Basketball, Basketball, and more .. Basketball! That is on all the minds of the sports fans at Scared Heart right now. The girls and boys are both in the heart of their schedules as they continue to fight for every basket, lead, and the ending “W” result. 

This week the boys team had a heartbreaking loss to their rivals, Beal City, on the road Tuesday.

 Now the question is, will they bounce back? How will they come out against Merrill! A great team is built by learning from tough games and continuing to battle. Go watch the JV boys and stay to see how the Varsity boys match up against the next opponent!

Dan Haggart Basketball has been the focus of the blog the past couple of weeks so today we are going to switch gears and get to know the SHA Athletic Director! Dan Haggart holds the title of Athletic Director and Dean of Students at Sacred Heart.  Haggart is not a stranger to SHA ... he has SHA in his genes. His mother, Betty Grisdale Haggart, was a graduate in the class of 1953.  Dan Haggart has grown up in Clare, MI and graduated from Clare High School. After high school, he attended Northwood University for four years to play football. After graduating in 1986 from Northwood, he played semi-pro football for 10 years.  After his football career was over he went back to college at Saginaw Valley to get his teaching certificate. But at Sacred Heart, high personal, academic, and athletic standards are not reserved for an exceptional few, they are standards that are upheld day in and day out by many. Nowhere is this dedication to excellence more evident than the Sacred Heart Irish Track & Field Teams. Both squads are coming off of campaigns that wrought Division 4 State Championships. Some may call it, "The Luck of the Irish," but with all of the wins Sacred Heart is racking up on the hardwood and track (just to name two high achieving programs) one cannot help but think that these Irish win their competitions the old-fashioned way. Breaking News … We Have Another Win!

Picture Credits  The Lady Irish have been a hot topic on our blog, but who isn’t talking about them? Some may ask if it truly is, ‘The Luck of the Irish,” but we all know that it is the hard work of this team that has them sitting at a 19-0 record. Last night the Irish played at Beaverton. They brought home the win with the score of 57-43 . Beaverton was a non-conference game. Now, the next question is who has to face this stellar, hot streak team? Breckenridge will be headed to Mt. Pleasant tomorrow for a game time starting at 7:30pm. ALERT … HOME GAME … TOMORROW!! This win streak will hopefully hold up to the Breckenridge Huskies who are coming into the game with a 4-14 record. The Huskies will be looking to cause trouble for our Lady Irish, so come out and support your team! Nothing better to do on a Thursday night then watch some basketball at home!
