Pots of Gold and the Luck of the Irish

Image
Photo Credits As the pot of gold seasons that your Irish have brought you this year are beginning to wrap up, don't forget that tomorrow, March 1st, at 7:30PM the Varsity Boy's Basketball team will be taking on Vestaburg! With Vestaburg sitting at 4th in the Mid-State Conference, your Irish are holding strong to their 3rd spot ranking.   Tomorrow as the boy's take on their rival school, Vestaburg, the stakes are high.  One team will lose their winning streak tomorrow, not to make assumptions, but it's going to be those wolverines! Vestaburg has a winning streak of three and Sacred Heart has four. After all, who would win at the end of the day; wolverines or an army of irishmen? If you guessed irishmen, you're at the right website. Highly recommended to scroll through this blog to see how well this Irish luck has been playing out for our Sacred Heart Athletics programs. Come out tomorrow to support the Boy's team at Vestaburg at 7:30!

Boys basketball staying strong!

Image
We all know that the girls basketball team has been all the talk with their impresssive undefeated record, but the boys team has been making great strides at the end of the season! According to  maxpreps , the boys have a 15-5 overall record, playing 8-5 in league play. This puts them in 3rd place in the Mid-State conference standings which doesn't put them out of the playoff race! Sacred Heart is only 2 games behind the 1st place team the Ashley Bears. Their next contest is Thursday, March 1st versus Vestaburg at home. Vestaburg has had noting but a very average season holding a 7-9 record. They are 4-5 in league play which means Sacred Heart should have a great change on continuing their winning streak to have a 16-5 record!  Also if you haven't already, follow us on our social media pages so you can always stay up to date with Sacred Heart Athletics! Breaking News … We Have Another Win!

Image
Picture Credits  The Lady Irish have been a hot topic on our blog, but who isn’t talking about them? Some may ask if it truly is, ‘The Luck of the Irish,” but we all know that it is the hard work of this team that has them sitting at a 19-0 record. Last night the Irish played at Beaverton. They brought home the win with the score of 57-43 . Beaverton was a non-conference game. Now, the next question is who has to face this stellar, hot streak team? Breckenridge will be headed to Mt. Pleasant tomorrow for a game time starting at 7:30pm. ALERT … HOME GAME … TOMORROW!! This win streak will hopefully hold up to the Breckenridge Huskies who are coming into the game with a 4-14 record. The Huskies will be looking to cause trouble for our Lady Irish, so come out and support your team! Nothing better to do on a Thursday night then watch some basketball at home! Don’t miss the action and as always, keep us updated on your experiences, thoughts, and comments! ...

Run Irish, Run!

Courtesy of breakingfourth.com With all of the success the Sacred Heart Irish are experiencing on the hardwood, it's hard to imagine that any Sacred Heart Program can compare in terms of skill or success. But at Sacred Heart, high personal, academic, and athletic standards are not reserved for an exceptional few, they are standards that are upheld day in and day out by many. Nowhere is this dedication to excellence more evident than the Sacred Heart Irish Track & Field Teams. Both squads are coming off of campaigns that wrought Division 4 State Championships. Some may call it, "The Luck of the Irish," but with all of the wins Sacred Heart is racking up on the hardwood and track (just to name two high achieving programs) one cannot help but think that these Irish win their competitions the old-fashioned way. Hard work, dedication, discipline, perseverance, grit. As the Lady Irish are reminiscent of Michael Jordan and his Bulls, the Irish Track-stars can also...

A Pot of Gold Season

Image
As the Lady Irish (16-0) enter into their home game tonight vs Montabella (3-13) at 7:30PM, sitting at the top spot for the Mid-State Conference, they should be able to hold that win streak and continue on their journey to an undefeated season. Photo Credits This team consists of five seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores. Any of their competitors would probably say, "we'll get them next year, they're losing their whole team" because this year they returned all nine players from the 2016 roster. Yet, the leadership and work ethic this team has established with one another is not something that disappears, it gets passed down. This is a culture instilled into the program, one a coach should be proud of. Watch Coach Damon Brown speak about his team here. Let's hope their good ole' Irish luck gets our Lady Irish to the Class D State Championship, like we all hope for. At this point in the season, I'd say it's entirely probable and with the c...

Can they make it 16 straight?!

(courtesy of the Grand Rapids news) Your girls' Sacred Heart basketball team is undefeated this season, so far at an impressive 15-0 record! They are 6-0 at home and 8-0 on the road with multiple wins of 25 points or more! In league play, the Lady Irish are 11-0 and on pace to win the conference with ease. According to  MaxPreps , your Lady Irish are ranked 92nd in the state and 2773nd in the nation! This is a very impressive feat, which is why you need to come support your Lady Irish on their soon to be memorable season!   Their next game is tonight at 7:30PM, where the Lady Irish will be taking on the Ashley Bears to improve to a 16-win streak! Ashley Bears  are 8-9 on the season with a 7-5 record for league play.  Tonight's game is  away and is also the last time these two teams meet. We hope you make the trip to come support your fellow classmates and friends! There are 3 more games in the regular season, so every ...
